Veterans' Medical and Health Records

The Official Military Personnel Files (OMPF), held at the National Personnel Records Center (NPRC), are administrative records containing information about the subject's military service history. Many OMPFs contain both personnel and former active duty health records, but the service branches discontinued retiring the health record portion to the NPRC in the 1990s.

Here you can find Resources and information concerning CRSC and CDRP

First one that explains how a comparison between the two Methods work.

Example for E-8 with 20 years, spouse and 2 kids under 18.

There are two Methods for CRSC calculations and DoD will pay the lower of the two amounts.

One is Time in Service-

  • TIS X 2.5= %
  • % X High 3= CRSC Amount

Other is percentage from Award of CRSC based on VA ratings.

So take the TIS Method.

How VA Disability Works

This page best viewed using Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome or Firefox.  Use of Internet Explorer is not supported.

VA can be very confusing in understanding how the law may or may not apply to your case.  With the documents found here on this site, it will help you to understand and know where and why VA has your rating a particular rating.

Your VSO can also send this in but its just as easy to do it yourself.  If you are asking if the VSO has access to your C-File and can print it off for you, the answer is no, they will not do that for you.  You must request it which could take a few months to get back.  If you have a claim in process, it may add some time to getting it.  If you can not open a word doc, please let us know and we will upload a PDF ver of this.
